Library opening hours extended on trial basis

*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

Sai Kung and Tseung Kwan O Public Libraries will open seven days a week on a trial basis from June 4 to October 29.

The pilot scheme for District Councils to participate in the management of district facilities was launched in January and Sai Kung is one of the four pilot districts.

As one of the Community Involvement Programme initiatives, the District Facilities Management Committee of Sai Kung District Council has provided financial support to the Leisure & Cultural Services Department to launch the extension of opening hours at the two libraries.

During the trial period, the two libraries will provide service on library closing days from 1pm to 8pm and the students' study room will open to the public from 1pm to 10pm.

The weekly opening hours of the two libraries will be increased from 62 to 69 hours while the opening hours of the students' study room will increase from 70 to 79 hours.
