The Centre for Health Protection has been informed by the Ministry of Health of a confirmed human case of avian influenza H5N1 concerning a 19-year-old male member of the People's Liberation Army.

He developed fever, cough and pneumonia symptoms on May 9. He was admitted to hospital on May 14.
