Man ill with Streptococcus infection

*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed this year's second Streptococcus suis case, involving a 59-year-old Sheung Shui man.

He came down with fever, chills and muscle pain on May 19 and was admitted to North District Hospital. His condition is stable. He has no recent travel history, and his family members have no symptoms.

There were eight Streptococcus suis cases last year and 13 in 2005. Click here for prevention tips.
