A man and woman from the same family have come down with food poisoning after eating wild mushrooms from Aberdeen Country Park yesterday.

The 63-year-old man and 57-year-old woman developed nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, dizziness and blurred vision after eating the mushrooms and sought treatment at Queen Mary Hospital. No hospitalisation was required and both have recovered.

The Centre for Health Protection advises people not to collect and eat wild mushrooms from parks or the countryside as it is difficult to distinguish edible species from inedible ones.
