Tai Wo Hau clearance to start
*
Housing Department

Clearance of Tai Wo Hau Factory Estate in Tsuen Wan will start May 3 as scheduled, the Housing Deapartment says. The 12 remaining tenants are urged to accept the ex-gratia allowances and move out before the clearance.

The department's Chief Manager-Management (Kwai Tsing, Tsuen Wan & Islands) Jennifer Yiu today said that any further extension on the clearance date is not possible due to the unsatisfactory building condition.

Based on the ex-gratia allowance calculated at $2,717 to $5,070 per square metre, tenants will be granted allowances ranging from $56,000 to $1.7 million.

The site will be returned to the Government for disposal after the clearance.
