The Sir David Trench Fund for Recreation is inviting grant applications from those who are interested in providing facilities for recreational, sporting, cultural and social activities to promote personal development, particularly those aimed at young people.

The three categories of grants are:

* capital works projects, to construct new recreational facilities;

* non-capital works projects, including the purchase of sports and recreational equipment; and,

* a special project to support sports organisations to purchase higher valued sports equipment for organising sports activities, training and competitions.

The guidelines for funding applications and application forms are available on the Home Affairs Bureau's website. They are also available by fax. Send a request to 2519 7404. Completed forms should be sent to the Secretariat of the fund committee at 41/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong.

The deadline for applications for the capital works projects is May 31. Applications for non-capital works projects will be processed in two batches, with closing dates set on May 31 and November 30.
