Organised by the Home Affairs and Information Services Departments, with 18 District Offices as co-organisers, the event called for photographs conveying Hong Kong's growth in the past decade and the successful implementation of the One Country, Two Systems formula, as well as the can-do attitude and entrepreneurial spirit of local people.
The open category was won by Sze Kwok-tung's Entering the 10th Anniversary, featuring local newspapers and magazines published on New Year's Day this year, sporting optimistic headlines for 2007. The youth category was won by Lau Ngok-hei's Golden Bauhinia Square, while Chan Yu-hung's shot of neon signs won the mobile-phone category. The winners scored cash prizes and gift coupons of up to $7,000, and trophies.
A roving exhibition featuring the most outstanding images will be held until mid-June across the 18 districts. More winning entries are being featured on this website.
