The condition of a 10 year-old-boy who was admitted due to fever is stable, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital says. Tests show he does not have influenza A-H5N.

The boy claimed he came down with fever after touching bird droppings at a school in Kowloon Tong, and was transferred from Baptist Hospital last night. He was hospitalised under isolation after having a clinical examination and lung X-rays.

The case has been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
