Alert issued on Phuket Legionnaires outbreak
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection advises travellers to Phuket to exercise caution after four European tourists came down with Legionnaires' disease after staying at the Phuket Grand Tropicana Hotel on Patong Beach.

The centre is monitoring the situation and seeking more information from overseas health authorities. The travel industry has been alerted to the incident. The 2125 1133 hotline has opened for public enquiries and health advice.

For details on Legionnaires' disease, click here.

Anyone who has stayed at the hotel since November and has come down with an illness should seek prompt medical advice and tell their doctor of their recent travel history.
