Product recall: Kui Hua Chut Lee San Bird's Nest & Pearl (batch number WA00030) has been recalled.

Consumers should not buy or take proprietary Chinese medicine Kui Hua Chut Lee San Bird's Nest & Pearl (batch number WA00030) as its microbial content has exceeded the maximum permitted limit. The manufacturer has been ordered to recall the product.

People who have bought that batch should stop using it.

The Department of Health launched an investigation upon receiving notification from Macau on the recall of two proprietary Chinese medicines produced by the same manufacturer. The recalled batches are not on sale in Hong Kong.

While tests on samples of related products - Chut Lee San and Kam Chik San - showed their total bacterial count are within limits, the manufacturer voluntarily recalled the products it marketed in Hong Kong.
