Forty-five secondary school students, aged 12 to 16, have fallen ill after eating lunch provided by caterers on October 25. The Centre for Health Protection believes it to be a case of bacterial food poisoning.

Twenty-six boys and seven girls were from a Ma On Shan school while seven boys and five girls were from a Siu Sai Wan school. They developed diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and fever after the lunch. One sought treatment from Prince of Wales Hospital but needed no hospitalisation.
