Streptococcus infection confirmed

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a Streptococcus suis infection involving a 61-year-old Tsuen Wan man, bringing the year's total cases to seven.

 

He came down with headache, fever and neck pain on September 29. He was admitted to Yan Chai Hospital October 1 and is now in stable condition. He has no recent travel history.

 

Thirteen cases were reported last year.
