Quality housing award nominations open

Housing Authority & Housing Department

Nominations are invited for the Quality Public Housing Construction & Maintenance Awards 2006.

Jointly run by the Housing Authority and the construction and maintenance industry for four years, the event recognises contractors, supervisors, workers and Housing Department staff for their outstanding performance in public housing construction and maintenance.

Deputy Director of Housing Ada Fung said the authority has been partnering with the construction industry to bolster public housing quality and maintenance. The awards will boost experience sharing and encourage practitioners to improve quality standards in craftsmanship and service delivery.

The awards are categorised under new works projects and maintenance services projects. Four awards will be presented under the former while the latter comprises seven awards.

Estate management advisory committees, public rental housing tenants, contractors and nominated sub-contractors and project supervisors can nominate outstanding workers of both new works and maintenance services projects, outstanding supervisors of maintenance services projects, outstanding Housing Department customer service project teams, as well as outstanding Total Maintenance Scheme in-flat inspection ambassadors and workers.

Selection criteria will be based on the candidates' performance in public housing projects as well as their commitment to craftsmanship, environmental protection, occupational health and safety, ethical integrity, partnering and customer service.

Nomination forms can be downloaded here. Completed forms should reach estate offices or Housing Department Procurement Section 3 at 12/F, Block 3, 33 Fat Kwong Street, Ho Man Tin by October 20. A prize presentation ceremony will be held in early December.

Enquiries can be made on 2129 3531 for new works projects and 2761 6685 for maintenance services projects.
