The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a Legionnaires' disease case involving an 84-year-old man, the twelfth case recorded so far this year.

The Kwai Chung man, who has no recent travel history, came down with dizziness, shortness of breath and vomiting on August 14 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on August 28. His condition is stable and his family members have no symptoms.

Including today's case, there were eight local and three imported Legionnaires' disease cases this year, while one is yet to be classified. There were 11 cases last year, three in 2004 and three in 2003.
