The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed Dengue fever in a 26-year-old Sha Tin man, bringing the year's total cases to 19, all imported.
He came down with fever on July 14 after a trip to Thailand. He was admitted to Union Hospital on July 17 and was transferred to Prince of Wales Hospital on July 19. He was discharged on July 24.
People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures against mosquito breeding. Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, and use insect repellent. If feeling unwell after returning from abroad, consult a doctor.
