Yau Ma Tei eatery closed for repeat offences

*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

A Yau Ma Tei snack shop has been ordered to close for two weeks for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says.

The restaurant, at 103 Woosung Street, was convicted in March and April of failing to cover food properly and illegal extension of food business outside its licensed area. A $5,500 fine was levied and 15 points registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system, resulting in the suspension.

There was also one conviction of using open space for preparation of food in July last year and two convictions of failing to cover food properly last January. A $6,600 fine was levied and 20 demerit points were registered. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days in April.
