The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed Dengue fever in a 63-year-old woman, bringing the year's total cases to 16, all imported.

She travelled to Indonesia from June 14 to 28 and came down with fever, malaise, dizziness, headache, joint pain and a rash on July 1. She was admitted to the Adventist Hospital on July 6 and has recovered.

People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures against mosquito breeding. Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, and use insect repellent. If feeling unwell after returning from abroad, consult a doctor.
