Fanling housing contract awarded
*
Housing Authority & Housing Dept

The Housing Authority has awarded a $552-million contract to Yau Lee Construction to complete the remaining works at Fanling Area 36 Phase 1. The contract price is $96 million or 21% more than the outstanding value of the previous contract.

The works comprise three 41-storey and two 36-storey domestic blocks providing 3,000 flats, a commercial centre, an open carpark and associated drainage and external works, to be completed in two years.

This is the last of the three contracts awarded following the authority's forfeiture of the previous contracts due to serious delays in the works' progress. Works at Shek Pai Wan Estate Phase 2 and Fanling Area 36 Phase 2 redevelopments have resumed and are proceeding smoothly.

The contractor is required to employ at least 80% of the sub-contractors employed in the previous building contract.
