The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed another enterovirus-71 case involving a 19-month-old boy, bringing the year's total to 10.
He developed fever, cough and runny nose on June 12. He has been discharged from Queen Mary Hospital and has recovered. He has no recent travel history, and family members have no symptoms.
The centre has contacted the nursery he was attending in Western District and health advice was given. Earlier an 18-month-old boy was found to have hand-foot-mouth disease and had recovered. The nursery is now under medical surveillance.
