The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed Dengue fever in a 36-year-old man living in Malaysia, bringing the year's cases to 12, all imported.
The man came down with fever, headache, cough and a rash on May 25. He came to Hong Kong two days later and left May 30.
People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures against mosquito breeding.
Travellers should also wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, and use insect repellent. If feeling unwell after returning from abroad, they should consult a doctor.
