The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed another enterovirus-71 case involving a 15-year-old boy, bringing the year's total to seven.
The patient developed blisters over his hands and feet with oral lesions on May 18. He is now stable and does not require hospitalisation. His family members have no symptoms.
He was studying in a secondary school where a 15-year-old girl was confirmed to be suffering from EV-71 on May 26. Two boys, both 15, were confirmed to have the same disease on May 30.
Health advice has been offered to the school, which is now under medical surveillance. No new cases have been found in the school since May 22.
