$5m saved in salary review

Hospital Authority

The Hospital Authority will adjust the salary of its senior executives, saving the body about $5 million a year.

In September the authority decided to abolish the Incentive Award Scheme historically used for the Chief Executive, Cluster Chief Executives and Hospital Chief Executives and to determine their new remuneration based on their roles, responsibilities and size of portfolio.

The review has now been completed for the 26 Cluster Chief Executives and Hospital Chief Executives. The result of which is 16 will have a reduction in salary, six remain unchanged and four will marginally increase.

These changes along with other management changes, such as non-replacement of retiring executives, will result in a net fall in the total annual cost of senior executives for the authority in excess of $5 million.
