Avian action: Food & Environmental Hygiene Department officers close down the illegal poutry operation.
*

The Food & Environmental Hygiene Department has shut down an unlicensed fresh provision shop in Yuen Long, arresting a woman and seizing 60 items of dressed poultry and 20 chilled and frozen ones.

Officers raided the premises about 6am after detecting illegal poultry slaughtering activities at a temporary structure near Pak Sha Tsuen, Yuen Long.

About 150 live chickens found on the premises were handed over to the Agriculture, Fisheries & Conservation Department.

The woman was charged with operating an unlicensed fresh provision shop and failing to keep the food premises clean.
