The 2006 Flower Show has opened at Victoria Park, featuring more than 350,000 flowers, including a tulip-filled showground, a rare double coconut and an Olympic emblem display.
The show's theme flower is the Dianthus with the theme of "Enchanting Beauty". The 10-day show, which runs until March 12, features more than 70,000 pots of the theme flower.

Int'l participants
A total of 183 organisations from 19 countries are participating, including those from the Mainland, the US, Australia, and those from European and Asian nations, such as newcomers South Korea.
About 4,000 plants have been used to make the Olympic emblem, celebrating Hong Kong's hosting of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Equestrian events.
More than 15,000 tulips fill the showground with vibrant colours, providing a spectacular backdrop for photo-taking.
On display at the special exhibits corner is a rare double coconut. Its seed, weighing up to 15kg, is the biggest and heaviest in the plant kingdom.
Other highlights
There is also a floral wall displaying the fifth East Asian Games emblem and displays presented by Ocean Park, the Institute of Horticulture and the Guangzhou Bureau of Urban Utilities & Landscaping.
A series of fringe activities, including music and dance performances, floral art demonstrations and fun games complement the show.
It is open 9am to 9pm with tickets on sale at Victoria Park, the Leisure & Cultural Services Department's District Leisure Services Offices, and venues with Leisure Link services.
