Creative contest: Budding artists are invited to join the International Arts Carnival graphic design contest, which will close on April 6. |
Budding artists are invited show their creativity by designing a poster promoting the International Arts Carnival, which will run July 7 to August 13.
The carnival, organised by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, will offer entertainment and educational activities throughout the summer. A cutting-edge Chinese acrobatics performance Heroes by the Wuhan Acrobatic Troupe is the opening programme. Meanwhile, the Introdans from the Netherlands will bring a remarkable collection of ballets.
The carnival will also showcase music, dance, drama, puppetry, clowns and films. The popular ABC, Come & See and the HeARTS Linked series will continue and a new Comic Wonderland series will be introduced.
The graphic design contest is divided into two sections: primary and secondary schools. Submissions can be made on an individual or team basis and each entrant may submit more than one design.
Each winner will receive a trophy. The winner of each section will be awarded a book voucher worth $1,500. The first and second runners-up will receive a book voucher worth $1,200 and $800. For the Best Cover Design Prize, the winner will get an additional $500 book voucher. Five outstanding entries in each section will each receive a $500 book voucher.
All entries should be sent to the department's Festivals Office at 5/F Administration Building, the Cultural Centre, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui before April 6.
