Sheung Shui restaurant closed for repeat offences
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

A restaurant in Sheung Shui has been ordered to suspend business for 14 days, until February 15, for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says.

The restaurant, at Shop 1A, Sunningdale Garden, 8 Chi Cheong Road, was convicted in October and December last year for operating an unlicensed food business on the pavement in front of the shop and unauthorised extension of food business outside the licensed area.

The licensee was fined a total of $10,000 and had 15 points registered against it under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension.

There were also two convictions of unauthorised extension of food business outside the licensed area in July and September last year.

It was then fined $17,000 and had 30 demerit points registered. The breaches led to a seven-day business suspension from November 24 to 30 last year.
