A total of 3.04 tonnes of rubbish was collected in the Tsim Sha Tsui area on Christmas Day, 44.2% less than Christmas Eve. Four verbal warnings and nine fixed penalty tickets were served to litterbugs.
The Leisure & Cultural Services Department said that of the rubbish collected from 6pm to 11.30pm yesterday, 1.2 tonnes were cleared from litter bins at the Cultural Centre, 1.6 tonnes from litter bins on the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Avenue of Stars and UC Centenary Garden, and 0.24 tonnes from the ground.
Also, there were 94 verbal warnings given and four summonses issued for illegal hawking.
