Social capital: Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr York Chow (second, left) joins guests at the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund Annual Forum cum Project Expo. |
Since its inception over three years ago, the Community Investment & Inclusion Fund committee has approved 90 projects in seven batches, providing more than $70 million in funding support.
Seventy of the approved projects are being implemented, involving 150 paid staff, mobilising 17,000 volunteers and 1,000 collaborators. Together they have worked hard to achieve the overall objective of mobilising community resources and building social capital.
Sixteen agencies and people received achievement awards today at the fund's 3rd Annual Forum & Project Expo in recognition of their dedication in implementing the projects and their outstanding strategies and implementation models for effectively building social capital.
The awardees were selected from more than 150 nominations.
The fund is now inviting the eighth batch of applications. Application deadline is December 30. For more information see the fund's website.
