The Health, Welfare & Food Bureau and the Shenzhen Municipal Government have agreed to exchange information on major food recall actions, the implementation, revision and updating of major food policies, and food safety surveys.

They met today to discuss their notification mechanism on food safety and public health. The meeting follows the consensus reached on September 5 at the Hong Kong-Shenzhen co-operation meeting to expedite the setting up of a notification and communication system for major food safety incidents.

Both sides deliberated on the objectives, workings and implementation details of the notification mechanism.
