The processing of applications for the import of poultry and poultry meat from Hubei has been suspended due to an H5N1 bird flu outbreak in the province, the Health, Welfare & Food Bureau says.

It received notification from the Mainland's Ministry of Agriculture last night of the outbreak in Jingshan county.

The bureau will monitor the situation over the coming weeks.
