A grant of $3.5 million from the Disaster Relief Fund has been approved for World Vision to provide emergency relief to earthquake victims in Pakistan.

To ensure the money is used properly, the fund's advisory committee will ask the organisation to submit an evaluation report and audited accounts after the relief project has been completed.

Meanwhile, at Pakistan's request the Government has procured and is arranging to air-freight 20 tonnes of relief, including tents and blankets.
