Hairy crab test results 'satisfactory'
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

Test results on 21 hairy crab samples collected recently for chemical and microbiological analysis are satisfactory, the Food & Environmental Hygiene Department says. They were tested for parasites, heavy metals, hormones and veterinary drug residues.

The department's recent visit to Suzhou also found stringent checking and inspection measures have been adopted for exported hairy crabs. They should have health certificates issued by inspection and quarantine authorities.

Local traders should import only hairy crabs with certificates. Consumers should buy crabs from reputable shops or restaurants only. For more safety tips click here.
