A 39-year-old man has been hospitalised with leptospirosis after a day trip to Lantau Island. He is stable.
The man came down with a fever, and muscle and joint pain on September 17 and was hospitalised four days later.
The Centre for Health Protection is contacting other members of the trip. The patient's family has no symptoms.
Leptospirosis infections are usually due to exposure to contaminated water, however, the incidence is low in Hong Kong.
