Mid-Autumn lantern carnivals at Ko Shan Road Park and Tai Po Waterfront Park have attracted large crowds to enjoy the festive celebrations.
At Ko Shan Road Park and Ko Shan Theatre, the Kunming City Ethnic Art Troupe performed Chinese ethnic dances and music. Other performances included Nanyin and Cantonese opera excerpts, a lantern quiz, fortune-telling and a spectacular lantern display.
The Tai Po carnival showcased Chinese dance by the Hong Kong Dance Company, Chinese music, folk songs and golden oldies, theatrical performances, nostalgic games, a lantern quiz, fortune-telling and spectacular lantern display.
Lantern carnivals will be held at Victoria Park on Sunday and Tsing Yi Park on Monday. For innovative and modern art, be sure not to miss the Luminiarium Levity II by Architects of Air, which is now on display at victoria Park until Monday.
A spectacular lantern display is being staged at Kowloon Park until October 16, mixing traditional and modern lantern designs. An exhibition featuring the winning designs and all entries of the 2005 Mid-Autumn Lantern Design Competition is also being held at the Hong Kong Central Library until October 1.
