The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an imported Dengue fever case involving a 44-year-old man, bringing the year's total to 10, all imported.
The North Point man travelled to Singapore, Myanmar and Malaysia from July 7 to 17. He got a fever, rash and muscle pain on July 16 and was admitted to the Adventist Hospital on July 21. He was discharged two days later and has recovered.
People should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take measures to prevent mosquito breeding. For details, click here.
Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, use insect repellent, and use mosquito screens or nets when rooms are not air-conditioned. If feeling unwell after returning from a trip, they should consult a doctor and provide their travel history.
