The Centre for Health Protection is investigating two food poisoning outbreaks involving 42 people who fell ill after eating at restaurants in Tsuen Wan and Causeway Bay.
The first involved 29 women and two men aged two to 60 who had lunch in a Tsuen Wan restaurant on July 13 and developed diarrhoea, nausea, abdominal pain and vomiting afterwards.
Nine sought treatment from Tuen Mun, Yan Chai, Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole and North District Hospitals. Another nine consulted private doctors. None required hospitalisation.
The second involved a Causeway Bay restaurant where four men and seven women aged 17 to 54 developed abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting after eating there between July 9 and July 11.
Three sought treatment from private doctors and five approached Queen Mary and Princess Margaret Hospitals. None required hospitalisation.
