Woman ill with Dengue fever

*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a 32-year-old woman has contracted Dengue fever, the ninth this year, all imported.

The woman travelled to the Philippines from June 30 to July 4 with her husband. She came down with fever, malaise, headache, muscle and joint pain on July 6, while her husband suffered a fever, diarrhoea and a rash.

Both were admitted to North District Hospital two days later, and the man was discharged on July 11, while the woman remains stable.

People should take measures against Dengue fever. For details click here. The latest information on Dengue fever in other places is available on the Travellers' Health Service website.
