The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed a local cholera case involving a 40-year-old woman, the second this year.
The patient suffered diarrhoea on July 7 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital on the 13th in stable condition.
The case was classified as 'local' as she had not travelled during the incubation period.
The best way to prevent cholera and food-borne diseases is to observe good personal, food and environmental hygiene at all times.
