The "Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre" scheme is offering half-year memberships covering the period from July 1 to December 31. By paying only half the annual fee, members can enjoy a full package of exclusive benefits.

They include 10% discounts on tickets for most of the cultural programmes presented or sponsored by the Leisure & Cultural Services Department, including the International Arts Carnival 2005 and Midori's upcoming violin recital.

Members also receive special discounts on CDs, books, gifts, musical instruments and scores, jewellery, art works and Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Pass, and discounts on art and cultural courses, magazine subscriptions, and special offers from hotels and restaurants.

Members will also have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals, lectures and demonstrations, visit art institutes and take a free guided tour of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

The Friends' monthly newsletter and events calendar keeps members informed of the latest arts programmes.

Those who enrol now will receive a trendy leather watch while stocks last, available in two colours and sizes.

Half-year membership fees for "Friends of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre" is $75 for individuals, $110 for joint members, and $35 for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and full-time students.
