Cleaner water: Secretary for Home Affairs Dr Patrick Ho is briefed on measures enhancing pool cleanliness.
*

Water quality reports will be displayed at swimming pools from June 1. They will also be uploaded to the Leisure & Cultural Services Department's website.

In mid-June, the department will begin a four-month survey at its pools to collect feedback on hygiene and cleanliness. A hotline will also be set up so users can offer suggestions.

Visiting Sham Shui Po Park Swimming Pool today, Secretary for Home Affairs Dr Patrick Ho said the new measures will help the Government have a better understanding of swimmers' views and concerns. It will help it determine what further action is needed to upgrade cleanliness.

Noting a number of measures have been introduced to improve pool hygiene, Dr Ho said the current water quality monitoring system, including stepped-up water testing, and the nightly superchlorination of water ensures a clean and hygienic environment for swimmers.
