Bun scrambling event broadcast live

Leisure & Cultural Services Department

The Bun Scrambling Competition will be broadcast on television and on giant screens at two Cheung Chau venues due to spectator limitations.

The event is making its comeback after a 26-year ban, and organisers the Leisure & Cultural Services Department and the Cheung Chau Bun Festival Committee want to ensure it returns safely.

As the event's venue Pak Tai Temple Playground can only accommodate 1,000 people, the Cheung Chau Sports Centre and Praya Street Sports Centre will show the event live on two large screens. The centres can accommodate 1,000 and 100 people respectively, and admission starts at 10.30pm for the midnight event on May 16. The opening ceremony starts at 11.30pm.

TVB Jade, Now Broadband TV and Cable TV News II will also broadcast the event live.

An additional ferry service at 1.15am to Central has been arranged.
