Problem pill: Bioslim Herbal Tablets are not registered under the Pharmacy & Poisons Ordinance and have been recalled.

The Department of Health urges consumers to discard slimming product Bioslim Herbal Tablets, which is not registered under the Pharmacy & Poisons Ordinance.

The importer and the wholesaler have been instructed to recall the product after it was found to contain bisacodyl, a western drug ingredient for treating constipation. It is used as a stimulant laxative and can cause abdominal pain and cramps. Prolonged or over use can cause excessive loss of water and electrolytes.

Purchasers should dispose of the products or return them to the importer. For more information call the department on 2319 2839 or the importer on 2518 0365.
