Shop licence cancelled for repeat offences
*
Food & Environmental Hygiene Department

The licence of a "siu mei" and "lo mei" shop in Yuen Long has been cancelled for repeated contraventions of the Food Business Regulation.

The shop, stall No 9 in Tin Yiu Estate Market in Tin Shui Wai, has repeatedly failed to store open food in a proper manner.

In October 2003, and in January last year, the licencee was convicted of failing to store open food in a proper manner and was fined $2,000. Fifteen points were registered against him under the department's demerit points system.

The licence was again suspended twice for seven and 14 days in February and July last year. The licencee was also fined a total of $4,000 and 30 demerit points were registered, resulting in the cancellation of his shop licence.

The department reminded licencees of food premises that they must strictly abide by the Food Business Regulation, or else they might have their licences suspended or cancelled.
