Respiratory infection outbreak in Tuen Mun Hospital
*

The Centre for Health Protection is investigating an outbreak of upper respiratory tract infection involving four female Tuen Mun Hospital patients aged 27 to 29.

They developed fever and respiratory tract infection symptoms between November 20 and 22. They are all in stable condition and tests are being conducted.

On receiving the report today, the centre liaised with hospital management to conduct an immediate investigation and put all exposed patients and staff under medical surveillance.

Advice has been given on the cohorting of exposed patients, suspension of new admissions, and restriction of visitor entry until the end of the surveillance period. In collaboration with the hospital, the centre is also following up visitors to the affected cases for health advice and medical surveillance.
