A Caritas Medical Centre healthcare worker, who was on duty in the Developmental Disabilities Unit and the paediatrics ward last week, has been diagnosed viral illness or viral hepatitis.
She developed a fever and was admitted yesterday to an isolation ward in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, 30 of the 34 children affected in the respiratory illness outbreak have been confirmed to be infected with type-four parainfluenza. All are in a stable condition, and one still has fever.
The other two children found to have fever and respiratory infection symptoms over the weekend are being treated in an isolation ward. They are in stable condition and one still has fever. Specimens have been taken to find the cause of infection.
Since November 15, paediatric patients requiring hospital admission have been moved to Princess Margaret Hospital. So far, four patients have been admitted to the hospital for observation and treatment. Two of them have been discharged while the remaining two are in a stable condition with fever.
