*
Leisure & Cultural Services Department

Three public swimming pools at Tai Wan Shan, Kennedy Town and Kwun Tong, closed due to bloodworms, were reopened today.

The Leisure & Cultural Services Department said the pools have been thoroughly cleansed and reopened to the public from 1pm.

The department will conduct large-scale thorough cleansing operations at all of its pools to further upgrade hygiene standards. The department is strictly enforcing a requirement that swimmers shower and wash their feet before entering the pool.

Thorough cleansing to start Wednesday

From tomorrow, eight pools will be closed every Wednesday from 1pm, resuming service the following morning. They are Wan Chai, Island East, Lai Chi Kok Park, Tai Wan Shan, Kwun Tong, Yuen Long, Shing Mun Valley and Sai Kung.

Every Thursday Morrison Hill, Lei Cheng Uk, Ho Man Tin, Tuen Mun, Tin Shui Wai, Tsing Yi, Sheung Shui and Hin Tin pools will be cleaned.

Every Friday Kennedy Town, Sham Shui Po Park, Morse Park, Mui Wo, Kwai Shing and Ma On Shan pools will be cleaned.

Every Monday Victoria Park, Kowloon Tsai, Jordan Valley, Tsuen King Circuit Wu Chung, North Kwai Chung Jockey Club, Tai Po and Tseung Kwan O pools will be cleaned.

Every Tuesday Pao Yue Kong, Chai Wan, Jockey Club Yan Oi Tong, Fanling, Sha Tin Jockey Club, Kowloon Park and Hammer Hill pools will be cleaned.

For enquiries on swimming pool opening hours, please call the LCSD hotline 1823 or visit the department's website.
