The Health, Welfare & Food Bureau has rejected media reports welfare policy will be dropped from its portfolio.

It today refuted the reports that Secretary for Health, Welfare & Food Dr Yeoh Eng-kiong is considering the move, saying there was no basis for such speculation.

It said Dr Yeoh is meeting the sectors, hospital management and departments under the bureau to take stock of work progress and take forward any issues and challenges in the coming months.

It said severing welfare policy is not one of the issues being looked at.
