Imported Dengue fever case confirmed
*
Centre for Health Protection

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an imported Dengue fever case involving a 48-year-old man, bringing this year's total to 17.

The man traveled to Asian areas from early June to July 22. He developed fever, headache, a rash and joint pain on July 16 and was admitted to Caritas Medical Centre for treatment.

He was discharged on July 26.

The public should stay alert to the threat of Dengue fever and take precautions to avoid mosquito breeding and bites. For details, click here.

Travellers should wear long-sleeved tops and trousers, use insect repellent and mosquito screens or nets when rooms are not air-conditioned.

Travellers feeling unwell after returning from their trip should consult a doctor as soon as possible.
