Another enterovirus-71 case confirmed
*
Health Protection Center

The Centre for Health Protection has confirmed an enterovirus-71 case involving a 19-month-old girl, bringing this year's total cases to 12.

She developed a fever and rash over her limbs on May 17 and has since recovered without hospitalisation. Those in contact with her at home are asymptomatic. However, her creche recorded 18 hand-foot-mouth disease cases (including this one) from May 7 to 26.

The centre called on people to take precautions against infection and maintain good personal and environmental hygiene.

For more advice on disease prevention, click here or call the central health education hotline 2833 0111.
