Imported Dengue fever case confirmed
*
Department of Health

The Department of Health confirmed today an imported Dengue fever case involving a 42-year-old man who developed headache, muscle and joint pain, and a rash on April 12.

The patient travelled to a Southeast Asian country between April 4 and 7. He was admitted to Tseung Kwan O Hospital on April 18 and his condition is stable.

So far this year, all 10 Dengue fever cases in Hong Kong have been imported.

The department appealed to people, including travellers, to stay alert to the threat of Dengue and take all precautions to avoid mosquito bites.

Travellers feeling unwell after returning from their trip should consult a doctor as soon as possible and provide details of their travel.

The latest Dengue information can be found on the department's Travellers' Health Service website.
